Will's Mobile Auto Headliners Since 1995
In The Beginning...
Starting out as a humble detail shop in Clearwater, Fla, in 1990, Will Chavis, the legend himself, soon realized headliners were falling everywhere and what better idea than a mobile service so customers didn’t have to wait for days to have it done. So within a week, he had a van, all the tools and material and hit the road knocking on doors. He was off!
In 1995, Will and his wife Dawn and two sons, Jacob and Wesley, moved to Lancaster, SC for a better opportunity to grow the business and to raise their kids in a country setting where they could be “kids” and flourish. Two more children were then added to the Chavis Clan: Nick and Abigail. Now a family of 6, there would be plenty of opportunity to carry on the legacy.
The Man himself.
From humble beginning, Will’s Mobile Auto Headliners has become the Carolinas premiere headliner service. Will Chavis worked long hours Monday thru Friday and even on Saturday if need be. He’d travel as far north as Salisbury, NC to west into Gastonia to south into Columbia, SC and as far east as Wadesboro, NC. From flea markets to a Walmart parking lot, he could do any headliner on the spot. Thus he grew a reputation of quality workmanship in a timely fashion and reliability at fair prices.
Tradition
Sadly Will Chavis passed away in November, 2015. It was a hard hit for the family. But Will’s reputation and hard work couldn’t be left to fade away. So his wife Dawn and son Wesley picked up where he left off and continue the business to this day. The voice message you hear when you call is Will himself. He never played with words and was always fine tuning that voice message to get as much info from a potential customer as possible. Thus it still exsists to this day.
The Legend continues….
As we come to a close of 2023, we find that business is booming! With three trucks on the road more ground can be covered.
Wesley Chavis, Will’s middle son, has become the premiere tech. He prides himself on his knowledge of the higher end cars like VW, Bentleys, BMWs, Porches and Mercedes. He’s even done several Massarti’s. He knows his headliners as he has been doing headliner next to his Dad since he was 8 years old.
Jacob Chamenss, Will's oldest son, has join as well. With a great business sense and ideas, his talent of perfection makes him a great fit to our team. His knowledge and creativity to add new products, like star lights brings new growth for the future.
His partner in training Matt Stine is also proving to be talented and will soon be a lead tech with his own van expanding us even more.
Nick Chavis, the youngest boy, joined in 2022. In college for his second degree in medicine, he too added a business sense and talent with customers. While his career will probably take him in a different direction, we are happy to have him as part of the family team.
So with 3 mobile units available, we can now cover even more territory and reach areas that we get so many calls from but logistically couldn’t get too.
We look forward to seeing how the next few years will help this company grow into a southeastern LEGEND. The NEXT GENERATION.
